Australia Travelogue - Day 10, 11 and 12

Day 10 - Ride to Sydney DowntownπŸš—πŸš—

It was the ceremony of Haldi today but we had the first half of the day free and hence we could make ourselves useful and help around uncle's friend. So Mamaji's friend dropped by early morning and asked me and my brother in law if we want to ride with him to Sydney Downtown in a BMW 3 series and we were up for it.

The Hanger as the called the Sydney Harbor Bridge

It was a mesmerizing short ride where we travelled through the Motorway.

That day we faced a lot of traffic but it was worth the ride. I took a short video of the ride as well.

We also encountered a traffic jam in the tunnel.

Post the short ride to Sydney downtown to Mamaji's friends workplace we were back home and getting ready for the Haldi Ceremony that was lined up that evening.

So we were all decked up, the color for the evening was yellow which symbolizes cleansing and purifying the couple's body who are getting married. It also symbolized the start of a hopefully happy new life together.

And that was the end of the 10th Day which was Haldi Ceremony, the next day was for marriage and we had to do a lot of running around still.

Day 11 - Marriage D-Day πŸ‘«πŸ’“πŸ’ƒπŸ™
So it was D-Day and we were all running around in the morning to get ready. Officially the wedding ceremony was decked up for afternoon to late evening hence we had a special ride surprise. We were to pick the bride up as an entire family in a Hummer + Limousine= Humousiney.

And so we took some videos as well

And post picking the bride-up we had to go around the house one's to bid a final adieu before getting married. Clicked a few pics with the bride.

So the Groom was ready and it was time for the bride to make her entrance into the wedding hall.

And so it was time to begin the ceremony, everyone including the Panditji were ready and we were all prepared for the verses.

Beginning of a new life together

And we also had the ear pulling tradition, signifying to the Groom that take care of the sister and remember that this ear pull is for the same.

It was time for the Vidaai, and the groom had brought in a Mustang GT 500 to take his bride home.

And then he played the Vroom Vroom music of Mustang.

And so the wedding was over and it was time for the reception which was to be held the next day.

Day 12 - Wedding Reception
The wedding and run-up to the wedding had taken a toll on everyone for being sleepless. Here is one such instance where my brother-in-law dose off while on mobile.

After a no lesser than 11 days spent in Australia we had our first tradtional Maharashtrian Breakfast of Poha. We were invited to Mamaji's friends house as they were to travel to India for a personal family tour.

The traditional speech of the Father of the Bride

And then it was time for the speech from the father of the bride and then the couples first dance and then the ceremony concluded. That took a entire village to happen. Until next time, in the next blog it will be more of the other areas that we travelled to as a tourist. Mt.Keira & Kiama blowout point would be the next blog.
